NEW YORK, NY (May 6, 2016) — Today, ANDY BLACK unveils his highly anticipated full-length debut album, The Shadow Side [LAVA/Republic Records], in stores everywhere and available at all digital retailers. Get it HERE.
 
BLACK introduced the record with the anthemic first single produced by Ricky Reed and John Feldmann “We Don’t Have To Dance,” which fans immediately devoured and critics extolled. In a little over one month’s time, the music video has garnered over 7.1 million YouTube/VEVO views, reached nearly 3 million Spotify streams, went #1 on the US & UK Spotify Viral chart and hit #2 on the Spotify Worldwide viral chart.
 
Upon the eve of release this week, BLACK performed two intimate record release shows in Los Angeles and New York where fans lined up around the block to get a chance to see BLACK’sdebut solo performance. Alternative Press raved about his show noting, “(BLACK’s) command of the stage was impressive with the arena rock confidence” and Loudwire called the evening a “historic moment.”  The shows were attended by some of rock’s elite including Matt Skiba Mark Hoppus of Blink 182Ashton Irwin & Calum Hood of 5 Seconds of Summer, and John Feldmann. For the record, ANDY BLACK teamed up with producer John Feldmann [Panic! at the Disco, 5SOS, Blink 182]. Moreover, they tapped the talents of collaborators contributors, co-writers and producers.  Ashton “Ash” Irwin from 5 Seconds of Summer plays drums on a handful of tracks including “Homecoming King,” “Ribcage,” “Stay Alive,” “We Don’t Have To Dance,” “Broken Pieces,” “Beautiful Pain,” and performs backing vocals on “Ribcage.”  Mikey Way plays bass on “We Don’t Have to Dance” and “Louder Than Your Love,” while Gerard Way offers background vocals. Joe & Benji Madden of Good Charlotte co-wrote “Broken Pieces,” and Mark Skiba (Alkaline Trio/Blink 182) is featured on “Stay Alive.”
 
Next up, BLACK brings The Shadow Side to life on the “Homecoming Tour” this spring kicking off in the UK and beginning US dates starting May 23 in Baltimore, MD at Baltimore Soundstage. This marks his very first solo tour. See the full itinerary below.
