New York, NY (April 23, 2019) – Amassing over 50 million streams to date, Australia’s hottest new export 16-year-old KIAN (key-ahn) announces his debut EP, BLISS , releasing on May 10, 2019.
Existing at the crossroads of indie, alternative, soul, and R&B, the six-song collection features the breakthrough smash “Waiting, ” which just surpassed 36 million Spotify streams. Additionally, it boasts the recent single “Childism. ” The latter not only clocked upwards of 3 million Spotify streams, but it also amplified his international buzz among fans and critics alike.
Wonderland Magazine recently profiled KIAN in an extensive feature , and of “Childism, ” interns claimed, “It feels like he’s really found his musical identity on this one. ”
In celebration of the big news, he shared an intimate Live Video of “Waiting. ” Backed by his band, KIAN steps up to an old school microphone and sings with raw emotion and unfiltered passion.
Audiences were first introduced to KIAN in 2018 when he won the “Unearthed High Competition” in Australia hosted by international tastemaker radio station triple j. In the wake of his big win, the station added the single into regular rotation and named it “Best New Music. ” Within a few months, it soared to #1 on the Spotify “Hot Hits Australia” Playlist, went Top 20 on Apple Music, and vaulted to #3 on the national ARIA Singles Chart.

Kian was first introduced to music at the age of two, when he hit the road with his dad, creating music in remote Indigenous communities throughout the continent. This bohemian lifestyle proved immensely inspiring as he grew up around creatives of all kinds immersed in art and music. In Beswick Community [NT], he met Baker Boy and developed a fast friendship and faster musical partnership. Their chemistry powered the anthem “Cloud 9” in May 2017.
