New weekly political show, The Take with Sophy Ridge, launches this Wednesday at 9pm on Sky News.

Using Prime Minister’s Questions as a starting point, The Take will measure how well the political parties are landing their arguments, taking the midweek pulse of the nation.

Each week some of the country’s leading decision-makers and a focus-group of viewers will join Ridge to give their take on all the big political headlines.

As MPs return from Easter recess, they’ll be plenty to discuss this Wednesday with pressure on the Prime Minister and Chancellor following partygate fines, a new immigration policy, and the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.

Providing the voice of the nation and weighted by how they voted at the previous election, the audience panel who each applied to be on the show, will give live reaction to the breaking news of the day. Ridge will then use their feedback to inform her interviews with the politicians in the studio.

Ridge, who will continue to host Sky News’ flagship Sophy Ridge on Sunday show, will challenge those in power with the public’s opinion, finding out how in touch they really are.

Also launching this week across Sky News digital platforms, the Politics Hub brings together the best news, insight and analysis from Sky's team in Westminster, all in one place.

Sky News experts including Political Editor Beth Rigby and Deputy Political Editor Sam Coates will take you through the day’s developments, explaining what is happening and why it matters. The Politics Hub will set events in context, providing the whole picture and an assessment of how things might play out.
