Sam Smith promises 'really deep' new music: 'My heart is on the line'

'Money On My Mind' hitmaker Sam Smith has revealed that his new music is 'deeper' than he anticipated.

Speaking to Billboard about his forthcoming new studio album, the superstar admitted that he's feeling really emotionally connected to the songs he is writing:

"The music I'm making at the moment, it's very much a beautiful little transition from there and it fits. It's great. It's really deep (stuff) that's coming out - that's all I'll say."

"Every day I'm having little epiphanies and changes and loving it. But all I can say is that I'm putting my heart even more out on the line. I'm going even deeper. I can't believe I'm even doing it, but I'm going even deeper."

Back in February, Sam Smith confessed that he's really looking forward to spending a little more time with his family this year because he feels as though he's been missing out: "I’m trying to live as well a little bit, and I think next month I’m going to force myself to just stay at home and see my mum and dad and my sisters, because I feel like I’ve missed out on their lives a bit the last few years, so that’s my plan."
