Sam Smith's "The Thrill Of It All" debuted at No. 1 in the UK and US
This year Sam Smith debuted at Number 1 on the UK Official Albums Chart, as well as in the US on the Billboard 200 chart with his latest album, "The Thrill Of It All".
The singer-songwriter sold 97,000 copies across all formats to claim the week’s top spot in the UK. 64% of the album’s sales were physical copies, 21% were downloads and 14% were streaming equivalent sales.
"The Thrill Of It All" is Smith’s second Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart, following his 2014 debut "In The Lonely Hour," which returned in the same week to the Top 20 for its 114th week in the Top 40.
In the US "The Thrill Of It All" sold 185,000 copies in its first week, which marked his best sales week ever.
The British star's Grammy-winning debut album "In the Lonely Hour" peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and reportedly sold 166,000 copies in its first week.
