The Amsterdam based band Nachtschade - Dutch for Nightshade - took a leave of absence and wandered the world. Singer/bass player Maarten Stok signed on the Expedition Schooner ‘Tara’, upon which research is being conducted on climate change and the ocean.

New single Aileen was written in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The song describes a nascent love between the writer and the ocean itself. Back on land, Nachtschade gave it a most vulnerable arrangement and the song was eventually recorded in their own studio.

This reliable four-man orchestra has brought a combination of sleazy Blues and Zappa-inspired Rock to the stages of many famous Dutch festivals including: “De Parade” and “Down the Rabbit Hole”. They’ve played the major Dutch concert halls of Paradiso and Melkweg and were named one of the most impressive acts during their national tour of “Popronde 2016”.
