Carmel announces Independent Venue Week gigs

International jazz/pop sensation Carmel has announced that she is playing two intimate sets as part of the 2019 Independent Venue Week Festival. The two shows are at Halifax’s Grayson Unity on 1 February. The venue has become a very popular small venue and owner Michael Ainsworth has turned the bar into a hub of creativity.

Carmel first found UK and European success in the early 80’s with classics such as Bad Day and More More More hitting the charts in the UK and across Europe. A beautiful duet with “The French Elvis” Johnny Hallyday, J’oublierai ton nom saw Carmel find even greater success in Europe.

The gigs for #IVW19 are completely sold out and mark the start of a busy year for Carmel. An appearance at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival On 4 May is confirmed and a new album is in production. With more shows to be announced the Manchester based songstress is looking forward to a busy year.
