SION RUSSELL JONES RELEASES 'DESPITE MY BURDENS' VIDEO AND SINGLE

DUE FOR RELEASE ALONGSIDE SECOND ALBUM, ‘LOST NO MORE’ ON APRIL 21

‘A confident singer-songwriter who crafts really sweet tunes.’ Huw Stephens, BBC Radio 1

‘Master craftsmen with the light, effortless touch of Siôn Russell Jones are few and far between. Quality.’ Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music

"The songs themselves are at once both far reaching and disciplined. 7/10" -  Uncut

‘So Good’ Janice Long, BBC Radio 2

Critically-acclaimed folk guitarist, Sion Russell Jones returns with a fantastically surreal new video for single Despite My Burdens, the lead track from second album Lost No More.

Due for release on April 21 alongside the album, Despite My Burdens displays SRJ’s deftness for finding singalong choruses in sombre, everyday subject matter.

An accomplished fingerstyle guitarist, Sion's talent shines through in subtle flourishes, during an otherwise stripped-back, nazel-gazing acoustic track.

The beautifully shot video - filmed in Sion's hometown in Wales - is an off-beat and deliciously dark feast, featuring Mexican back-yard wrestling, a menacing man in a Venetian mask and an adorable Daschund puppy called Mr Furter.

Since the release of his debut album, And Suddenly in 2010, Siôn has received airplay on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6 Music as well as being chosen as 'Artist of the Week' on BBC Radio Wales.

Over the last 18 months, Sion has gigged extensively, playing showcases at SXSW and Canadian Music Week Toronto, as well as gigs at Rockwood Music Hall New York, Liverpool Sound City, BEAT12 Sweden, IndigO2, Hop Farm, Greenman, The Great Escape and the Acoustic Festival of Britain. And he’s opened for acts including Newton Faulkner, at his sold-out show; Mara Carlyle, comedian Rich Hall and Thomas Leeb.

Upcoming shows include supporting Norwegian artist Moddi in Switzerland, a St David's Day performance in Paris and a short tour of Austria.
