June 8, 2022 - Atlanta, GA - The Adult Swim Mural Project in partnership with Living Walls announced three new Atlanta artists for its Spring/Summer 2022 mural installment. Ariel Dannielle, Demetri Burke, and Tim Short were selected to be part of the ongoing initiative created to help spotlight local up-and-coming Black artists to produce large-scale murals around the city.

“Since 2019, with the help of Living Walls, we have had nine dynamic murals created in Atlanta, expanded to New Orleans and will now debut a new mural this summer in Philadelphia,” said Michael Ouweleen, president of Adult Swim. “Our goal remains the same for this project to amplify the voices of Black artists in Atlanta and around the country.”

"The Adult Swim Mural Project has not only allowed 12 artists to create large-scale works of public art, but has also committed to investing in the Black arts community through financial support, training, and community building," said Monica Campana, executive director for Living Walls. "For us as an organization trying to create more space and investment for BIPOC artists, this project is exactly the kind of support and empowerment we hope to see from our corporate partners."

Now in its third year, The Adult Swim Mural Project has supported a total of 12 artists, with nine in the Atlanta area - rotating twice annually. Three artists have been selected from New Orleans, the first city the project expanded to, and Philadelphia was recently announced as the next site for the project and will be highlighted during the Adult Swim Festival taking place Aug. 5-7 in Philadelphia’s popular Fishtown neighborhood. The Adult Swim Mural Project first launched in Atlanta in November 2019 through Adult Swim’s partnership with Atlanta nonprofit Living Walls to produce large scale murals, train artists in the process of mural-making as they gain experience in the full scope of creating public works of art and start meaningful conversations about the role of the artist in the public space today. Mural walls were offered to artists with no network branding, allowing space for each artist to be their authentic selves and explore meaningful concepts.
