Will.i.am files lawsuit against Pharrell Williams

Will.i.am has filed a lawsuit against Pharrell Williams over the ‘Get Lucky’ hitmaker’s ‘i am OTHER’ YouTube channel.

Despite previous claims that he had no plans to sue Williams, the former Black Eyed Pea is now taking legal action by asking a judge to protect his ‘i.am+’ branding.

Legal documents obtained by TMZ reveal that Will.i.am is countersuing Pharrell Williams and is claiming that Williams has a reputation for copying the work of others.

Will.i.am’s lawsuit notes that Pharrell Williams is currently being sued by the family of Marvin Gaye over the song ‘Blurred Lines’ and its similarity to the late singer’s own music.

Other claims made by Will.i.am include accusations over Pharrell being the co-founder of a record label called Star Trek Entertainment and his attempt to register the trademark Pink Slime, as the ‘I Gotta Feeling’ star says it is similar to Slime, which is owned by the toy company Mattel.
