Will Young pens "dream" record contract with Island

Will Young has inked a new record deal.

The British singer revealed on This Morning that he is teaming up with Island Records.

It marks the end to Young's relationship with Sony, who he has been signed to since leaving Pop Idol in 2002.

Speaking about his "dream" deal, the 'Evergreen' star said:

"I've just signed to Island Records and I'll be working on that next year. [It's] a dream come true because they are really about the music...so it'll be great to go back to that."

All of Young's five previous albums have either hit No.1 or No.2 in the UK, with his last release coming in the shape of chart-topping 'Echoes' in 2011.

His top selling record in the UK so far is 2003's 'Friday's Child', which is 5x Platinum.
