Vocal sensation Adele has been named as one of the top artists to listen to while cooking by a new poll.

Lurpak teamed up with Last.FM to compile a list of the most popular music people listen to while preparing a meal and crowned Adele and iconic rock band Queen as the two winners.

The poll revealed that a whopping 60% of the British public listen to music as they're in the kitchen cooking and 28% of them put on songs by GRAMMY award-winning songstress Adele. 17% of men, according to the results, opted for the hip-thrusting hits of Elvis Presley.

Samatha Peel, the brand manager at Lurpak, spoke about the newly launched foodbeats.com website and explained that the concept of creating playlists based on specific cooking times is something that simply works:

"More and more people are passionate about food and cooking. In a modern kitchen people are not only cooking, they're online searching for recipes, tips and listening to their favourite music."
