Paula Abdul sues for tanning salon burn

US X Factor judge, Paula Abdul, is suing UVASUN for 'second and third degree burns'.

Abdul's lawsuit seeks general damages, medical and health care expenses for the burns that were suffered in January 2012 after Abul paid for the salon's SlimStar wrap treatment. This treatment claims to burn 1200 calories or more in just one 50-minute session. Adter the SlimStar wrap treatment, Abdul went onto a tanning bed at the salon where she suffered burns 'especially severe second or third degree burn on a portion of left thigh'.

In court documents seen by TMZ, Abdul claims she 'lost work and required extensive follow-up care from doctors and surgeons'.

The injuries she claims she has sustained include' great mental, physical and nervous strain, pain and suffering, and loss of earnings potential.'

The documents add: 'Paula Abdul will lose additional income in the future and lose additional time in the future at plaintiff’s occupation and profession.

'Plaintiff has also sustained an impairment of earning capacity, adding to plaintiff’s further loss in an amount not known at this time.'

The former professional choreographer served as a guest judge for 'So You Think You Can Dance' and 'Dancing With The Stars' on leaving US 'X Factor'.

In October 2013, Abdul was named as judge on the revived Australian version of 'So You Think You Can Dance'.
