Is 'Finding Dory' the first Pixar film to include a same-sex couple?A newly released trailer for the movie, 'Finding Dory', suggests that it could be the first in Disney Pixar's history to include a lesbian couple. The latest trailer is the much-awaited sequel to 2003's blockbuster 'Finding Nemo' and debuted on 'The Ellen Show' last week. Ellen DeGeneres plays the voice of Dory, an amnesiac fish, who sets off on a journey to discover her lost family. The moment which has sparked rumours amongst gay fans that it may be the first time a same-sex couple have been included in a movie, takes place 1:07 mins into the trailer, when an octopus knocks a child out of its pram at an aquarium, only to be found by two shocked adults, who look to be a same-sex couple. The moment was pointed out by @DLthings recently on Twitter. LGBT supporters have been pushing for greater inclusion in movies, with past example being such films as 'Frozen'. 'Frozen' was viewed by audiences wide as carrying a lot of gay subtext. The Guardian termed 'Let It Go' as a 'coming-out anthem for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.'
