NEW YORK, Jan. 27, 2011 -- Hailing from Slough, UK, A&M / Octone Recording artist BROTHER releases their first single, "Darling Buds of May," digitally today. The self- proclaimed purveyors of "gritpop," BROTHER has taken England by storm. NME declares, "they're mashing the best of Britpop and beyond into monumental mounds of melody and might." BBC Radio One raves, "A great British band, a British hope for 2011." With respect to the media hype, frontman Lee Newell said, "It's something we always expected. We don't doubt ourselves. You have to have an air of arrogance. You have to believe it." "Brother is full of the attitude and swagger that reminds you of the great British bands that have conquered America," said David Boxenbaum, General Manager of A&M/Octone Records, "with the songs to back it up." The four lads are scheduled to release their Stephen Street (Blur, Morrissey) produced debut album this July.
