Toronto alt-indie-pop artist Bye Malo portrayed the lyrical protagonist you will love to hate in September, the final single released from his debut EP.

After garnering over 65k streams on his 2020 debut single release, Sad, Bye Malo is primed and ready to tug at the airwaves’ heartstrings once again with his emotionally complex single, September, which was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Neotempus.

The indie as you have never known it before single takes you on a visceral ride through romantic ineptitude with colourfully powerful guitar chords pulling you through the fractured affection. With the birdsong chirping away in the prelude, Bye Malo evidently knows just how to contort cliches around his own ingenuity.

Bye Malo said:

“September is the final single from my debut project, and it is a banger. The lyrics are heartfelt, heartless, toxic, and sweet in the same raspy distortion-mixed breath against the smooth guitar tones.”

Amelia Vandergast, the Executive Editor at A&R Factory said:

“Lyrical honesty usually comes with prolific pity-me platitudes; Bye Malo succeeded in being as distinctive in his lyricism as in his gorgeously arranged intricate melodies that are saturated in delay. September is subversive romanticism at its finest.”

About

It all started when my parents got me a karaoke machine for Christmas when I was a little kid; from the moment I plugged it in, I knew I wanted to be a singer.

I started writing and recording in early 2016; at that stage, I wasn’t happy with my sound, but in the last two years, through focusing on my craft and the sound I want to make, I've grown so much musically.

Cut to 2022, and I have an EP I’m crazy excited to show the world after finding my own sound that I think is really unique.

Before the release of this EP, I released 11 singles and three music videos, which have all been well-received; shortly after my debut single aired, it racked up over 60k streams.
