ArkAngel47 traversed through time and memory in his latest alt-rap reverie, nostalgia

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

North West London’s ArkAngel47 tapped into one of the biggest psychological obsessions of our era with his lyrically-driven synthesis of new wave, grime and alt-hip-hop, nostalgia.

The emotional dualism within the release tunes into the bliss of indulging in reminiscence and the bitter-sweet acknowledgement that nothing will be that sweet ever again.

As his cadence runs smooth, the wavy genre-fluid beats melodiously glitch as they flow around the haunting etherealism within the backing vox to create a striking sonic visualisation of how jarring sentimentality for bygone chapters of our own lives can be.

The accompanying official music video, which premiered shortly after the official release date of February 8th, is a testament to the rapper, vocalist and beatmaker’s ability to take inspiration and conjure universally relatable art.

Mixed and mastered with Kult Eviction at Kabin Studios, nostalgia is sure to put the independent artist on an upward trajectory from the underground.

ArkAngel47 said:

“This latest release is a tale of nostalgia; a throwback to the things that made my childhood feel so amazing, while also coming to terms with the fact I won’t be able to experience them times again.”

Amelia Vandergast, Executive Editor at A&R Factory said:

“nostalgia is a potent cocktail of relatability and resonance stirred with ArkAngel47’s hypnotic sonic aura, which transcends convention to envelop you in the affirmation that you’re not alone in your tendency to look back more than you look forward.”

About

Growing up in Brent Northwest London, I was naturally put onto the UK grime and US rap scene from a young age; I’ve been a fan ever since, but rap isn’t my only influence. Being around my mum, I grew up listening to a lot of new-wave, and just about any other genre from my father.

When I was 17, I started writing bars and trying my hand at rap tracks; I released my first single, from the go, in 2021. I lost some motivation, discipline and focus shortly after, leading to long inactive runs, and I have only released five singles since. After a long spiritual journey and a series of battles with my own psyche, I know exactly what I want to achieve.

So, 2024 is go-time, and I’ve got loads of dope music ready to drop, covering many genres and sounds. Ultimately, I want my experimentation to culminate in creating my own genre, incorporating rap, dance, indie rock, and cloud rap, which I will exhibit in my first mixtape, 47th Cycle, which I will drop later this year.
