Maryland singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Madam Who?, broke through the agony aunt archetype with her electrifyingly catchy synthesis of electro-clash, pop, rock, and rap in her single and music video, Peter Meter. The anthem of liberation and empowerment was two decades in the making and is inspired by the wisdom of Grandma Rita and her unique approach to boy troubles.

It’s a flood of raw apologetic energy, channelled into a stream of alt-90s nostalgia in the Garbage-esque choruses and segues of hints of the B-52s to add more eccentricity into the hit that keeps pulling you in with every progression. Hit play for permission to shake off inhibition, step into your power, and treat life’s dramas with a wink and a smile.

The multi-generational journey, featuring Emily Davies on bass and the expert mixing of Animal Farm Music, with the accompanying self-directed and edited music video shot by Dave Messick (Unscene Production), debuted on January 19th as the third release from her self-titled 4-single EP and sets the stage for the upcoming LLAP (Live Long and Prosper) single.

Madam Who? said:

“The single was inspired by something my wealthy Grandmother said to me before my freshman year at college in Nashville. In her Scarlet O’Hara-esque southern accent, she said, “I been outta the datin' pool for some time now... and I was just wond'rin'... do bowyees still requiya that you have sex with them?”

When I came up with the pre-chorus and super-hooky chorus, I knew I had something really special, but it took me 20 years, on and off, to find the right verses. Last year, I joined a songwriter’s workshop group and the leader, Marissa Levy helped to push me in the right direction, sparking something in me; with her input, it all fell into place quickly.”

Amelia Vandergast, Executive Editor at A&R Factory said:

“Forget the Teaches of Peaches, Madam Who? Grandma knows the score when it comes to embracing your emboldening power of seduction. As for Madam Who?, her daringly exhilarant sonic style in Peter Meter will make you want to devour the track down to the last rock-licked morsel and still go back for more augmented euphoria.”

About

What do you get when you cross Lady Gaga with Olivia Rodrigo, then splash some No Doubt on top? Madam Who? Correct!

Madam Who?, GenZ's cool aunt and genre-fluid indie rock music artist, defies the odds and expectations. She's been through the wringer – that included brain cancer – but came out the other side writing inspiring pop anthems for underdogs. In her quirky melodies, you’ll hear The Beatles, The B-52's, and The Beastie Boys, but it is her insightful and fun lyrics that get stuck in your head.

In 2022, she released her debut EP, Reclaim Your Power, which caught the attention of Good Morning America. The popular morning TV show aired a segment on her inspiring story to their 1.7 million viewers in 2023. Currently, she is opening for national acts and working with a London-based record company to promote her latest 4-song self-titled EP.

Before making waves as a solo artist, Madam Who? born Audra Coldiron, pursued rock stardom by forming her first band, Merry Madness, in her student days. Next, she formed Audra & the Antidote; one of their viral hits resulted in Jimmy Iovine inviting the band to LA to share the stage with Creed and Godsmack on his TV show, FarmClub. 9/11 got in the way of their opening set at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom with Dick Clark presenting, but the event went ahead with an all-fireman audience, sans Dick Clark. Audra and the Antidote also worked their way into the top 10 songs/artists list curated by the American Music Awards inaugural New Music Awards. Shortly after, Audra & the Antidote broke up, and it was years later when Audra hit rock bottom and started to write songs again under the moniker Madam Who?
