SAMPHA 'PROCESS' A FILM BY KAHLIL JOSEPHYOUNG TURKS IN ASSOCIATION WITH APPLE MUSIC Young Turks and Apple Music are delighted to announce the release of Process, a film about the London musician Sampha by Kahlil Joseph (Pulse Films). After premiering at London's Institute of Contemporary Art, The Museum of Modern Art in New York and The Underground Museum and The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, Process is now available exclusively on Apple Music, starting today. The 37 minute film is a rich, widescreen visual contextualisation of Sampha's acclaimed 2017 debut album of the same name. Process was filmed in January 2017 between Freetown, Sierra Leone and Morden, south London. Both places have deep personal significance for Sampha, Freetown being the hometown of Sampha's parent's (and the city where many of the Sisay family still reside), while Morden is the outer London suburb that Sampha grew up in after his parents relocated to the UK. Process's vivid narrative intertwines footage and performance from both places to stunning effect. Process is directed by the Los Angeles artist and filmmaker Kahlil Joseph. The Emmy and Grammy nominated director is famed for his work with some of the world's most exciting and forward-thinking artists, including Beyonce ('Lemonade'), Flying Lotus ('Until The Quiet Comes'), FKA twigs ('Video Girl') and Kendrick Lamar ('m.A.A.d'). Speaking about Process, Sampha says ""It's been a genuine pleasure collaborating with Khalil on this film. He has such a unique visual language and has found such a beautiful way to tell this story." Process is available to view exclusively via Apple Music HERE An exclusive Process clip is available to view HERE and embeddable via the following link: As one of the todays most enigmatic young artists, Sampha has previously lent his vocal, production and songwriting talents to a whole range of standout releases, from contemporaries such as SBTRKT, FKA twigs, Lil Silva and Jessie Ware to world-renowned superstars like Beyonce, Kanye West, Frank Ocean, Solange and most recently on Drake's More Life release.
