DODIE SHARES NEW SINGLE & VIDEO; DEBUT ALBUM OUT MAY 7DEBUT ALBUM BUILD A PROBLEM OUT MAY 7OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASENEWS PROVIDED BY Biz 3 Publicity “The themes of dodie's music are undeniably somber yet poignant, striking an emotional balance that create a vein of hope running through the whole album.” - POPSUGAR “She’s built considerable momentum.” - EARMILK “dodie is among a new breed of young musicians who’ve already conquered the internet by the time they’ve begun work on their debut album.” - FLOOD MAGAZINE dodie today shares her searing new single “I Kissed Someone (It Wasn’t You),” the latest track to be lifted from her forthcoming debut album Build A Problem which is now due for release 7 May via her label doddleoddle. The new single follows “Hate Myself”, which premiered as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record In The World and was playlisted at Radio 1. “‘I Kissed Someone (It Wasn’t You)’ is set in the aftermath of a newly-single person’s messy night out,” explains dodie. “It’s the feeling of trying to patch over a broken, lonely heart by indulging in a revenge fantasy of promiscuity - sadly only resulting in feeling lost, lonelier and shameful. I wrote the song to take place in a drunken, dark mindset - teetering on the edge of sinking deep into the bad thoughts that alcohol can amplify, before snapping back in the verses to a slightly more grounded, but still sad, place.” By her own admission, dodie may be a work in progress; problems have been built, mistakes have been made, but with Build A Problem, she’s proven that she is an artist for the ages. “I Kissed Someone (It Wasn’t You)” is available to stream and download now; Build A Problem is available to pre-order in CD, vinyl, deluxe CD, deluxe vinyl and cassette formats, and released 7 May via doddleoddle. Catch dodie, May 5 for a live acoustic session and Q&A with Willa Bennett at Rough Trade in NYC. LISTEN TO I “I KISSED SOMEONE (IT WASN’T YOU)” dodie - Build A Problem tracklisting
