The Narrative members Suzie Zeldin (vocals/keys) and Jesse Gabriel (vocals/guitar) have always aimed to make songs that resonate deeply and impact the lives of their listeners, the same way many of their favorite musicians impacted theirs.

An indie/alt/pop band based in Nashville, TN, they originally came together through a Craigslist ad which led them to writing their first songs in Suzie's cramped New York apartment. These songs would eventually become their debut EP, "Just Say Yes", which was met with critical acclaim and led them to national touring, radio, film and TV placements.

They've since released two full-length albums and a series of singles, all of which showcase the band's ability to traverse genres and craft emotionally resonant songs that connect with fans on a deep level. Now, they're set to release a 4 song EP titled "New Anxieties", an album soaked in synth driven 80's and 90's nostalgia and carrying their signature focus on catchy melodies, introspective lyrics, and intricate instrumental arrangements.

'Higher' is the final, and most collaborative track on The Narrative's newest EP, 'New Anxieties'. The song began as an instrumental, which bandmates Suzie Zeldin & Jesse Gabriel then wrote melodies and lyrics together for.

Flush with 80's inspired synthwave pop sensibility (complete with guitar solo and fadeout), The two chose to reflect on a life stage which they began to share at around the same time: Parenthood.

Exploring both the loss of their pre-parenthood selves, as well as newfound fulfillment in life, 'Higher' gives the listener an intimate look into the band's experience of rebirth, both as musicians and people in the world.

‘New Anxieties’ is a cohesive set of four songs which highlights The Narrative's ability to tap into creative artistry, while still delivering strong hooks and catchy melodies. The band is continuing to write and record for their next release, and recently launched a Patreon where they plan to incorporate listener feedback into their musical direction.
