‘Do What I Want’ is Allegra’s retort to the whole lockdown quandary we’ve all found ourselves in during this year of crazy, only for her it was the fear of losing her creativity that spawned this effervescent gem. And like all the good stuff this Covid year, Allegra worked her musical magic from home, her bedroom to be precise. And then it leapt right onto Playlist, BBC Music’s flagship TV show. Natch.

With a melody that keeps on giving and that ‘I do what I want, I do what I want’ hook that will see you through the day, it’s a precociously zingy number that proves Allegra does exactly what her new single says on the tin.
