Jennifer Lopez has announced plans to release a new single.

As previously reported, the sultry singer has been teasing a new track for weeks as she returns to music following a stint on American Idol.

Lopez will release the song 'Live It Up' on May 8, with Pitbull lined up to give a guest cameo on the number.

The track is produced by RedOne, who has worked with Lopez in the past.

As previously reported, Lopez explained earlier this year that her world "fell apart" after she got divorced to Marc Anthony last year. She said:

"It was very hard to get up in the morning. Very hard. When you're depressed and sad all the time it's very difficult. I felt like my whole life had fallen apart."
