Justin Bieber gives $500,000 to children's charity

Teen heartthrob Justin Bieber has generously donated a significant sum of money to the Children's Wish Foundation in Toronto, Canada.

The pop sensation made the heartwarming gesture after performing in the city on Wednesday night, December 21, and handed over a cheque to the organisation for $500,000 (£312,500). He also spent time chatting to fans who have been diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses backstage at the concert and later told the audience:

"It means the world to me to perform for you, more so here than anywhere else."

The Children's Wish Foundation was Bieber's Canadian charity of choice and the sizeable donation was made as part of his Believe Charity Drive.

The 17-year-old 'Baby' hitmaker is no stranger to philanthropy and earlier this month signed up to back a new Facebook game that turns points into money to help various aid projects around the world.
