Justin Bieber to be honoured at the Tribeca Film Festival

Teen sensation Justin Bieber will be honoured at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival in New York for his incredible impact on social media.

The 18-year-old Canadian hitmaker was discovered after posting YouTube videos of himself performing covers of popular songs and has enjoyed a phenomenal rise to fame and is now one of the most-followed Twitter users with over 19.5 million fans.

Bieber also has 41.9 million 'Likes' on social networking site Facebook and his online presence caught the attention of Tribeca Film Festival chiefs, who will present the 'Boyfriend' star and his manager Scooter Braun with a prize for "the historic discovery of Bieber on YouTube and his subsequent social media rise".

The heartthrob is still in the studio working on his forthcoming studio album, 'Believe', and tweeted this morning that "me and @UsherRayondIV gotta have a duet on every album".
