Justin Bieber has revealed a taste for rock and metal icons Metallica and Guns N' Roses.

Whilst Bieber is usually associated with pop and R&B, the singer told Q magazine that he likes a bit of rock now and again.

And seminal heavy metallers Metallica seem to be one band right up his street, with the Canadian digging some of their 1980s material in particular. He said:

"I like rock music, I like Guns N' Roses and Metallica. The Beatles. I like Metallica's 'Fade to Black' and 'One'. It's edgy and emotional with those instruments and electric guitars and stuff."

Bieber meanwhile also commented on pop music, calling some of it a "scam". He said:

"I think some pop music is definitely a scam, because it's just someone putting together a hot song. But, I think when there's an artist that's truly talented, and they have the music to show for it, that's when you can talk."
