Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen lead Juno Awards nominations

Justin Bieber and fellow Canadian star Carly Rae Jepsen will go head-to-head in four categories at the upcoming Juno Awards.

'Call Me Maybe' songstress Jepsen has been nominated for five gongs - fan choice award, single of the year, album of the year, artist of the year and pop album of the year.

Meanwhile, teenage heartthrob Bieber will also compete in major categories fan choice, best album, best artist and pop album alongside Jepsen.

Bieber took to Twitter this afternoon to urge their fans to vote, writing: "nice! 4 nominations for the @TheJUNOAwards and @carlyraejepsen got 5. Everyone get ready to vote! #CANADA (sic)."

Bieber has been a staunch supporter of Jepsen - helping her rise to international recognition in 2012.

The songstress took to Twitter to gush about her nominations: "Wow!!! Just found out I've been nominated for 5 @theJUNOawards ~ Im thrilled and honored. Thank you! #JUNOawards (sic)."

Jepsen is also scheduled to sing at the Junos, which will be taking place April 21 at the Brandt Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Michael Buble will be hosting the annual awards ceremony. Watch the video for Jepsen's storming hit 'Call Me Maybe' here:
