Justin Timberlake has teased fans with news of an imminent announcement.

The 31-year-old has been largely dormant in the music scene over the past number of years, preferring to try his hand at acting.

However, a suggestive tweet has increased speculation around his rumoured return to music. The message reads:

"Thursday, January 10th, 2013 at 9:01 am PST..."

Reports have claimed that Timberlake will release a new single today (January 10), with Jay-Z rumoured to be involved.

The former 'N Sync star's last official solo single release came in 2007 in the shape of 'Summer Love'.
