Kasabian: 'Bands today are too worried about what people will think of them'

'Days Are Forgotten' hitmakers Kasabian have revealed that it's important to be unabashedly yourself in the music industry because confidence is a way to get ahead.

Rocker Serge Pizzorno told ShortList magazine that being too self-aware can be dangerous and destructive in the music world and he's concerned that many new acts are going down that road: "

"Bands are so frightened about the comments they receive on YouTube, they're scared of putting themselves out there. And that's a dangerous thing, because you get people that are self-aware with every move they're making. They give a f*ck too much."

He went onto add that new music stars should look up to the likes of Jack Nicholson and author Hunter S. Thompson because they're 2 great examples of people who stuck to their guns where being themselves was concerned:

"They're your boys! The ones that do sh*t and you go 'Ooh mate, what's that?' and they go, 'I don't give a f*ck'. It's that that's so dangerous and exciting.'
