Katy Perry reveals her first Super Bowl special guest: "He's the king of cool"

American pop star Katy Perry will be performing the Super Bowl halftime show this year and previously teased that she will be joined by a guest star during her set.

The ‘Dark Horse’ singer has now revealed who her first special guest will be.

Speaking to NBC's Willie Geist during the Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots football game Katy announced:

“My first special guest is going to be an incredible rock n roll icon, a guitar god. I'm going to have Lenny Kravitz on the show!”

She added: “He's got so much style. He's the coolest. He's the king of cool. He's going to make me so much cooler that day.”

As stated by Katy, Lenny Kravitz is the "first" star to be announced as part of her Super Bowl halftime show with more names to follow in the coming weeks.

The Super Bowl XLIX will take place on February 1 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
