Katy Perry on 'Swish Swish': 'It's liberation from all of the negativity'

Katy Perry has spoken directly about the rumoured feud with Taylor Swift with The Guardian. When asked if 'Swish Swish' is about Taylor, Katy answered:

"It's a message to all of the people who have tried to tear me down. All the haters, the trolls, the negativity. It's liberation from all of the negativity. It could be liberation from the biggest troll that's in office right now. Why is it one thing?

"Obviously, me and her have our stuff, and I have offered it up to her to work out. In person. Over the phone. The whole bit. When she's ready to do that, then I'm ready to do that. I'm ready to just let that all go. We need to have a conversation about it totally, and I love her. I really do. But this is something that's different."

Perry also spoke about created her stage persona 'Katy Perry' in order to escape her childhood and how she has lost corporate contracts after being vocal about politics.

Perry's new studio album, 'Witness', is out now. Watch Katy Perry live stream her daily life below (from June 9 - 12):
