Recent album ‘Stages’ is his first UK #1 album

Having already sold-out three shows this autumn in support of his first UK #1 album with ‘Stages’, multi-Platinum and multi-million selling artist Josh Groban has now confirmed an extended UK tour that commences next May.

Groban played the first date of his North American tour of intimate theatre venues this weekend in Atlanta and will continue with dates running through to early November. It includes two nights at the famous Dolby Theatre in his home city of Los Angeles. His recent US promo activity has included performances at the opening ceremony of the US Open and at the Tony Awards, as well as a special appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Renowned for his show-stealing guest appearances on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Josh Groban marked the album’s UK release with a performance and interview on The One Show (watch his performances of ‘What I Did For Love’ here: which was followed by appearances on The Paul O’Grady Show, Loose Women and Sunday Night At The Palladium. Josh Groban’s upcoming UK shows are:

Recorded with producers Humberto Gatica and Bernie Herms in both Los Angeles and London’s Abbey Road (with a 75-piece orchestra), ‘Stages’ features songs from musicals including Les Misérables (‘Bring Him Home’); Carousel (‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’); Into the Woods (‘Children Will Listen’); Phantom of the Opera (‘All I Ask of You’) and The Wizard of Oz (‘Over the Rainbow’).

‘Stages’ features three duets: Kelly Clarkson is featured on ‘All I Ask of You’ (“she can, quite simply, do anything”); Audra McDonald sings on ‘If I Loved You’ (“in my head I heard her on this and to sing it in the room with her was a dream come true”); and trumpeter Chris Botti plays on ‘Old Devil Moon’ (“he plays with such control and expressiveness”).
