Australian hitmakers 5 Seconds Of Summer have just been announced as the winners of the coveted Best International Newcomer prize at this year's Kerrang! Awards in the UK. 

The 'Don't Stop' heartthrobs faced tough competition from the likes of Crossfaith, Issues, We Came As Romans, and State Champs, but managed to push through and take the title for themselves. 

Upon hearing the exciting news, the lads posted a message to their official Twitter page to express their astonishment at winning the gong: "Honoured to win the @KerrangMagazine award for best international newcomer. thanks all of you for voting your amazing love u guys."

State Champs also posted a message of congratulations to 5SOS after losing out to them and their tweet read: "Congrats to @5SOS for winning Best International Newcomer at the @KerrangMagazine awards! To those who voted for us, thank you <3."
