Linkin Park on festivals: 'Rock music isn't meant to be played with the sun shining down on you''Crawling' rockers Linkin Park have revealed that outdoor music festivals kill the rock music vibe because watching a heavy band in the daylight is such a different and less effective experience to checking out a group in a dark, sweaty venue. The band's frontman, Chester Bennington, told the NME that the atmosphere is missing when you watch a metal set with the sun shining down on you and it's just not the same: "Rock'n'roll is not meant to be played with the sun shining on your face. It can be done, but it's done begrudgingly. Inside. Dark, lights, controlled environment. Always better." Linkin Park, meanwhile, have just confirmed details of a full European headlining tour that will take them around the continent from November 3, when they will kick off the run with a show in Zurich. The tour will go on for a couple of weeks before ending with a date in London at the O2 Arena on November 23. Tickets are due to go on sale this Friday, July 11 and the full list of dates can be seen below:
