Ed Sheeran explains the simple cover art for his new album 'x''Lego House' superstar Ed Sheeran has revealed that the green and black simple cover art for his chart-topping sophomore album, 'x', was only ever meant to be 'holding artwork' and wasn't supposed to be the record's final cover. Speaking to On Air with Ryan Seacrest recently, the British sensation explained that it looked so effective he decided to scrap the other plans and keep it: “The holding cover for iTunes that the label had was the green with the black X and it was only meant to go up until the real artwork was finished and I just really liked it. It was just simple, effective, stood out. People know what it is.” The hitmaker told the Irish Examiner that when he has downtime, he likes to spend it at his house because his red hair means that beach or sun activities cause him to burn: "I'm ginger, so we don't really sit on beaches. I can't think of anything less relaxing than sitting, getting burned in the sun. No, I just shut all my doors, turned my phone off and I watched lots of DVDs. I went on a spree on Amazon, they're pretty much giving away DVDs for free these days. I bought 200 films." Follow us: @Pressparty on Twitter / Pressparty on Facebook.
