5SOS celebrate EMAs win with recording session

Australian pop-punkers 5 Seconds Of Summer picked up three MTV EMAs at last night's ceremony and celebrated their momentous win with an impromtu recording session in the studio.

The band's drummer, Ashton Irwin, took to his official Twitter page this afternoon (November 10) and told his followers that he and the other guys laid down vocals on some new material: "Ended up doin' some recording last night. Did some singin', did some drumming."

5SOS's official Twitter page also shared an update, which explains that the lads have been rehearsing for their upcoming arena tour:

"Can't believe rehearsals are almost done for our first headline arena shows, pumped."

Irwin, meanwhile, posted a series of tweets after the EMAs, in which he thanked his fans for the amazing support they've shown over the past year: "You guys are incredible, and I'm blown away that you guys would take the time to actually vote for us! 3 EMA's is extremely crazy... The journey we've been on together over the past 3 years has been insane... And I love you all, to infinity and beyond. You guys should be so proud of yourselves, you worked so hard for those awards together."
