Pete Doherty has asked his fans to refrain from visiting his home

Pete Doherty has made a request that the public refrain from visiting his home.

A statement posted on The Libertines front man’s official website explained the trouble Doherty has been having with trespassers following a journalist revealing the details of his address:

“Peter recently discussed living in Melun in an interview for a French publication and during a French TV show ‘Le Grand Journal’ mentioned the small village where he resides… Unfortunately, much to our dismay a journalist from another French publication has detailed the exact location of the property in a very inappropriate and bizarre recent online article.”

The statement goes on to ask that the ‘Time For Heroes’ musician is not disturbed at the residence which belongs to his girlfriend, rather than Doherty himself:

“Whilst Peter is a public figure he also reserves the right to a private life and if you love and respect him please DO NOT VISIT. Since the article was released there have been various sightings of people on the grounds of the house, late at night, which certainly is not appropriate.”

The Libertines were recently forced to cancel two intimate gigs after Pete Doherty suffered a “serious anxiety attack”. The shows are yet to be re-scheduled.
