5 Seconds Of Summer performed at New York's Madison Square Garden last night (July 15) and the boys have confessed that it was a life-affirming event. 

An hour ago, the band's drummer Ashton Irwin told his followers that he and the rest of the members are forever grateful to their fans for allowing it to happen:

"Somehow we made it to Madison Square Garden and we have you to thank. Thanks for being a part of the ups, the downs and everything in between. X"

The lads also sent fans an email about the momentous concert and wrote: "Right... So I know the world right now has been taken over by Pokémon like it's 1998 again. But in other news... (5SOS news) we are playing Madison Square Garden. Who woulda thought it, dreams do come true. It's going to be a special show and we can't wait."
