Adele clings on to the top spot with '21'

Adele has managed to hold on to her number 1 position in the UK albums chart with '21', the Official Charts Company has confirmed. 

The midweek update saw the Grammy award-winning vocalist maintain her top spot whilst drum and bass duo Chase & Status entered the top ten at number 2 with their album, 'No More Idols'. 

Elsewhere in the chart, Bruno Mars' debut record 'Doo Wops & Hooligans' dropped down a place to number 3, Adele's first album '19' is sitting tight as a non-mover at 4 and Rihanna's 'Loud' completes the top 5. 

 

There were only 2 other new entries in the top ten this week, namely Eva Cassidy's 'Simply Eva' at 6 and Skepta's new record 'Doin' It Again'. Watch Adele perform 'One and Only' live from London's Tabernacle here:
