Lady Gaga's 'Judas' premieres

Lady Gaga has spoken out about her brand new video for 'Judas', which is due to premiere today, May 5. 

The pop icon wants to make sure that the context isn't taken the wrong way and to assure fans and the public alike that 'Judas' is not a religious statement despite the iconography and subject matter the song and video deal with:

"I don't view the video as a religious statement," she told E! Online, "I view it as social statement. I view it as a cultural statement."

"It's a metaphor. It's not meant to be a biblical lesson."

The video has already unofficially hit the internet and features some incredible weaponry, including a lipstick gun and jewelled mace, and a gang of bikers fronted by a leader wearing a crown of thorns so will no doubt stir up controversy when it receives its worldwide premiere on both American Idol and E! tonight.

Gaga also appears to have shed her facial and shoulder 'horns'. Watch the video here:
