Chili Peppers' Flea teams up with artist Damien Hirst for charity bass guitars projectDamien Hirst has reunited with the Red Hot Chili Peppers to design a new range of bass guitars for charity. The celebrated artist first worked with the funk-rock band when he created the cover for their latest album 'I'm With You' and has now teamed up with bassist Flea to come up with a limited edition bass worth £50,000 along with several other 'spin painted' instruments. Flea said: "Hirst created this awesome CD cover for us, so thank you Damien. He did an amazing job. It was reasonable, we got the bro rate." "Damien actually made me a bass, a butterfly bass, it's a beautiful thing. It's not just a piece of art to hang on a wall. The whole new album I play on it. This bass is kind of heavy for live — I don't play Fenders that much live — but it's beautiful." The guitars will be available for sale on November 8 and profits will be donated to the Silverlake Conservatory of Music. Watch behind-the-scenes footage from the Chilis' recent tour here:
