Jessie J sits on red throne in The Voice promo pictures

The first official promotional shot for new vocal talent contest The Voice has been released and it shows Jessie J sat in an overbearing red chair ready to coach aspiring singers.

The talented 23-year-old stepped in as a guest judge on the last series of The X Factor so has already experienced what it's like to be in a position of authority, but her role on The Voice will see her enjoy a lot more control over the show's direction.

The red thrones, on which the four coaches will sit during each night's auditioning process, face away from the stage so that the judging can be done entirely on the vocal ability.

If either Will.i.am, Jessie J, Tom Jones or The Script's Danny O'Donoghue like what they hear they will be able to turn the chairs around to see who's behind the voice.

During a recent interview, the 'Domino' sensation explained that she is determined not to let her age affect her ability to be critical because her wealth of experience more than makes up for what she lacks in years:

"I may be young but I'm not scared of being critical. I like how Simon Cowell says exactly what he thinks whether people like it or not. I don't care if people don’t like me and I’m prepared for that. Even if they are on my team that doesn’t mean I’m going to say it was good if it wasn’t."
