Lady Gaga named most popular celebrity of all-time in new poll

Modern pop icon Lady Gaga has been named the world's most popular celebrity of all-time.

The 'Marry The Night' sensation became the first ever Twitter user to pass 25 million followers earlier today (May 31) and she expressed her excitement at the milestone by posting a message to her Little Monsters that read:

"#25milliontweetymonsters wow! I'm officially feeling like the luckiest girl in the world today. Last sold out show in Singapore in 2hrs!"

Now the data aggregation site starcount.com, which analyses the online behaviour of nearly 1.5 billion people, has used information from her social networking outlets to reveal that Gaga is also the globe's most popular star.

Following closely behind at No.2 in the poll was Canadian teen sensation Justin Bieber, Rihanna came in at No.3, Eminem was at 4, and 'Hips Don't Lie' songstress Shakira made an appearance at 5.

Other personalities to be named in the Top 10 included Katy Perry (6) and Michael Jackson (10).
