Emeli Sandé and Plan B dominate the 2012 MOBO Awards nominations

The nominations for the 2012 MOBO Awards have been announced and British singers Jessie J and Tulisa Contostavlos are set to battle it out for the Best Female title.

The two beauties will also compete against Emeli Sandé, newcomer Rita Ora, X Factor alum Rebecca Ferguson, and Jessie Ware. Speaking about her nomination this afternoon (September 17), Tulisa explained that it's intimidating without her N-Dubz band mates by her side:

"It feels amazing. But pretty scary. It feels strange knowing all the past years I've been here it's been with N-Dubz, so it's a weird experience."

The frontrunners at this year's MOBOs are Plan B and Sandé, who each have 5 nominations apiece, and the 'She Said' rapper is up for Best Male, Best Hip-hop/Grime act, Best Video, Best Song and Best Album for 'ill Manors'. Sandé, along with being nominated for Best Female, will also fight for the Best R&B/Soul Act, Best Video for 'My Kind Of Love', Best Song for 'Next To Me' and Best Album (for 'Our Version of Events') prizes.

'Vegas Girl' singer Conor Maynard is up for Best Newcomer, Labrinth will compete in the Best R&B/Soul category, and Ed Sheeran will go up against Professor Green and Rizzle Kicks for Best Male.

The full list of nominees can be found on MOBO.com and voting won't close until October. The MOBOs will take place on November 3 at Liverpool's Echo Arena.
