Last night, One Direction's Zayn Malik told fans to keep their eyes peeled for a "massive announcement" and the lads unveiled an exciting competition this morning through their official website.

Entitled 'Bring Me To 1D', a series of contests will run in countries all over the world and according to a post on the site the grand prize is something fans won't want to miss out on:

"Winners will get to take a friend and a guardian to see the boys perform at their Madison Square Garden gig in New York City on 3rd December PLUS get a VIP invitation to attend a very special day on December 4th with the boys."

Following the launch of the 'Bring Me To 1D' site, so many of the heartthrobs' followers tried to log on that it crashed and a tweet was sent out from the group's page that confirmed "overwhelming demand" had taken it offline:

"Due to overwhelming demand the #BringMeTo1D site is down but we are working in getting it live again ASAP! Thanks for your patience!"
