Louis Walsh denies X Factor fix claims

Louis Walsh has dismissed claims that a recent X Factor results show was fixed.

A storm of controversy surrounded the show on Sunday (October 7) after judge Walsh appeared to change his mind at the last minute over who he wanted to keep in the show.

He appeared to pick Carolynne Poole to stay but opted to put the vote to deadlock, with Rylan Taylor eventually going through.

A picture later emerged of producer Richard Holloway speaking to Walsh at the judging panel but he denied that he told Walsh who to vote for.

In a diary piece in the Daily Mail, the Irish judge denied that the show was fixed. He said:

"I wake up to find a huge fuss brewing. People are Tweeting that last night was a fix, and a picture is published showing Richard talking to me. The story is that he's telling me how to vote - but that's not true. No one has one ever told us what to do."

Recalling the night in question, Walsh said: "I'm not sure who I'm going to choose between Rylan Clark and Carolynne Poole. Producer Richard Holloway comes over to talk to us before they perform. He does that every week to tell us what order to go in when we give our verdict because they have to get the cameras set up right. He tells me I will be last."
