Cory Monteith tribute episode will deal directly with incidents involved in the star's death

The 'Glee' team recently announced that a tribute episode for the late Cory Monteith will be included in the upcoming new season and more details about the storyline have now been revealed.

Fox's president of entertainment, Kevin Reilly, told press that the episode in question will 'deal directly' with the real-life cause of Monteith's death. The 31-year-old singer and actor was found dead in a Canadian hotel room last month and it was confirmed that his passing was caused by an alcohol and heroin overdose.

Speaking about the show, Reilly explained: "The third episode will deal with the Finn Hudson character being written out of the show. What I will tell you is that that episode will deal directly with the incidents involved in Cory's passing and with the drug abuse in particular."

"What we all said [at Cory's service last week], what everybody knows, is -- you know, you see some people struggling with addiction. It's clear; they're very easily put in a category: Oh, he was dark. Oh, she was always a partier. Cory was a big open wonderful life force. He was not a problem. Everybody loved him. He didn't look like [an addict]; he looked straight as an arrow. He was very open about [drug use] in his past, not as open about it in the present."

He also added that the programme's cast members will shoot some public service announcements about addiction that will "be very impactful".
