Liam Payne slams "bullsh*t" One Direction fan documentary

One Direction star Liam Payne has openly criticised a documentary about his band's fans.

Crazy About One Direction aired last night (August 15) on Channel 4 in the UK and it has provoked an angry response from devotees of the 'Kiss You' stars.

It examined the band's fanbase but many say it only focused on more negative elements such as death threats and jealousy, misrepresenting the majority of Directioners in the process.

There have been unconfirmed online rumours of fans taking their own lives in lieu of the documentary and this speculation seemingly encouraged singer Liam Payne into sharing his damning thoughts on the programme on Twitter. He said:

"Not really sure what's going on right now I just hope everyone's ok xxx. Hearing some horrible things... Really hope this isn't true."

The singer continued: "Just so all of you know we love you guys and we know how dedicated you are and tbh we can't believe it that you gus spend all your time on us. We couldn't give a f*ck what any documentary says there dramatised for entertainment and full of bullsh*t anyway we all know how hard you work for us and see it everyday at our shows, Let's all take a step back and think about what we/you have all achieved. You should be proud (sic)."
