Ellie Goulding: 'I don't talk myself out of things just because no one's done them before'

'Starry Eyed' singer Ellie Goulding has revealed that she likes taking musical risks and isn't put off by the unknown.

Speaking to Radio.com about her sound, the hitmaker explained that it's important she remains focused and doesn't allow herself to feel discouraged when she's playing with different genres:

"I don't want to think I can't do [something] because no one's ever done it before. I've always combined my love of folk music with electronic music and pop music. It works for me. It's not the easiest task in the world, but it seems to work for me and I seem to have engaged people. If I can keep going and I can keep bringing people together like I did at Lollapalooza [Chicago music festival], then I'm f***ing winning. I love it."

Goulding also admitted that she decided to release her repackaged new record as 'Halcyon Days' instead of just writing a whole new album because she feels as though she still has a lot to achieve with the offering:

"Basically, after my album came out, it's been a weird time for me, I feel like now I'm so much deeper into 'Halcyon' that I just wanted to expand it. I wanted it to last longer, because I'm not done with this record yet. For anyone else, it might be a time to move on and make another record, but I don't think it's the end yet."
