Taylor Swift takes home three CMA awards

Taylor Swift was the big winner at this year's CMA Awards.

The event, which pays tribute to country music, took place last night (November 6) in Nashville.

The 'Red' star won the rare and prestigious Pinnacle Award, as well as the Single of the Year and Musical Event of the Year for her Tim McGraw and Keith Urban collaboration 'Highway Don't Care'.

Other winners on the night included Blake Shelton, who beat Swift to the Album of the Year prize for his effort 'Based on a True Story' and also landed the Male Vocalist of the Year gong.

Miranda Lambert won the female equivalent of that award whilst 61-year-old George Strait picked up the Entertainer of the Year award.

Florida Georgia Line went home with the Single of the Year honour for the track 'Cruise' and the Vocal Duo of the Year award.

Taylor Swift's last CMA Award meanwhile came in the shape of the Entertainer of the Year prize back in 2010.

She is still riding the wave of success brought by 2012 album 'Red', with her accompanying tour due to hit Europe for the first time next year. Watch Taylor Swift at the CMA Awards below:
